Emotionally distant or emotionally involved? How do you know if your spouse is no longer on the same page with you?

An emotionally drained spouse is one who is both tired physically and otherwise. But the line of an emotional burn out situation could be a grey area that leaves you wondering what’s going on or one that may not give you any clue at all.

Spouses who truly want happy homes give it what it takes to have a sustainable marriage but there are also cases where couples struggle to keep things neat. If you constantly have issues in your relationship, you may have no idea whether your spouse is still in love with you or whether he or she is only tolerating all that is currently going on.

If you are sensing that you are losing your spouse’s attention but yet it doesn’t really seem like that when you assess the situation, or you are simply not sure whether what you are feeling is legitimate, one glaring thing that will for certain let you know whether your spouse or significant other is fully with you in your relationship (or not) apart from other signs, is numbness.

Does your spouse show a lack of feeling to what you do? Has he or she stopped responding to the your actions -or inactions? If you are in this situation, you may think that your spouse is just overtly quiet and as a cover up, he or she may actually tell you that they are merely tired and there’s really nothing wrong.

When a spouse is numb to your actions, what happens to you both or your marriage no longer matters, what used to count no longer does and if they constantly fail to reciprocate your love or gestures, these may be the cues you need.

Spouses who are truly in love try as much as possible to get their acts together to keep their love and home alive. However, if your spouse had always been concerned about you or your marriage but not anymore, it may just be that what you think you have, is no longer there and he or she is only waiting for the perfect time or situation to say “good bye”.
