It’s been a roller coaster of events no doubt with people at home either working remotely or being stuck at home or indoors from being laid off. Now that everyone is at home and waiting things out, there are some fun indoor activities I have put together that you can do with your kids or family to shake things up a little bit and make it lively.
Yes, you can make this time the best time where you can look back and are thankful for the opportunity of the time you currently have.

Fun Indoor Activities To Do With Your Kids
1. Read books together or tell stories.
2. Cook and bake with them. They could learn so much about measurement and numbers as they watch you measure your ingredients for baking.
3. Teach them simple life skills which are appropriate for their age bracket. Things like loading a dishwasher, doing the dishes, folding their clothes and socks, tying their shoes, cleaning their room, weaning them off peeing in diapers or in bed (this one is actually for you to actively do) and brushing their teeth are all skills that would come in handy later.
4. Play with them physically. You could run around the house, play hide and seek, hide things around the house and let them find it. This would help you put in your exercise for the day. Apart from or in addition to this, you could also build Legos. If your kids love building legos, there’s a variety you could get at legoshop.com. You could also choose to make puzzles, play board games or cards as a family. This helps the kids with their interpersonal relationship skills by learning fairness, persistence and self control.
5. Watch family TV shows together (in moderation) after school work is done.
6. Help them with their handwriting and holding their pencils. They could also learn to write in cursive.
7. Have a dance party and musical chairs. Music is fun and it keeps the blood flowing. It also helps the kids to learn the spirit of sportsmanship even if they lose.
8. If you are in a warmer climate and you have a big compound, now is the time to bring out your bicycles and ride all round the house. Physical movement and activity is actually good for everyone and you also want to avoid being sedentary as much as possible.
9. Chat with grandparents virtually to keep in touch. You bet, they sure miss having the grand kids around.

10. Practice math in a fun way by adding things randomly they would ordinarily use. By saying things like, I just gave you 3 balls, if I give you this one with me, how many would you have? Sharpen their math skills through every day learning with just normal everyday items or things.
11. You could do arts and crafts. It’s also a good time to learn how to knit or sew.
12. You could help your teenager get better at driving (While you do so in your car and on your street).
13. Paint a picture or do some palm prints.
14. Take lots of pictures as you do activities with your kids. Selfies haven’t taken a break.
15. Make memories. What ever that means to you. Talk to your kids and bond with them in different ways you feel you can possibly connect with them.
