Are You Tired of Waiting Endlessly?

Waiting…

It’s a bright beautiful morning, the sun is shinning and the birds are singing sweet songs of melody to your ears. “It’s going to be a good day, you think to yourself. Yes! I will give it another shot. It’s another opportunity for me to move closer to my dreams.”

You had hyped yourself so much as you got out of bed. “Yes I can do it! I will do it! There’s no stopping me…”

You have been out of a job for the past six months.

You decide to leave the house to go about your daily business of getting things done. Seeking employment-or whatever it is you pursue. As you walked down the street, you meet an old friend of yours and exchanged greetings. Then after the “hellos” come the part you dread the most…the questions.

So, “How are you doing?” “How is work?” “How is your family?” “Are you married?” If it happens your answer was a “yes” to having a spouse, then comes the next question “How are the kids?”

Your heart skips a bit because you don’t yet have any.

Right under your breath, you say to yourself: Oh my! What kind of day is this?? Why did I take this route and why did I meet this person? I don’t even have a job, a spouse or kids. Oh. my. goodness! This is not a good day after all. You curse yourself…”Woe is me”!

All within seconds of still thinking about your answers to those questions you have been asked, your friend sees you lost in thoughts… “Are you okay?” He asks. I just asked about your family and job. You give a huge sigh…

You are tired.

Waiting is extremely hard for those who know what’s it’s like. But what I have discovered is, it is only momentary and though it feels like that season would never end, it would, BUT only if you:

1. Don’t stop trying while waiting

If you do, you won’t stand a chance. Keep pushing and stretching yourself towards that goal and don’t give up. You would eventually achieve those desires if you persist enough.

2. Don’t get discouraged

Don’t listen to what others have to say to discourage you unless they’ve been in your situation. If they have good advice for you, take it. If they don’t, move on.

3. Go with your instincts

Your instincts most of the time will alert you on what you need to do or stop doing. If you pay attention close enough, it could guide you in the right way in making the right decisions.

4. Avoid pity parties

Don’t have a pity party asking yourself why this is happening to you and not others. You have a story to tell. It’s your own story and no one can play your part better than you. Play your role…like a boss with no regrets whatsoever.

Waiting endlessly

5. Imagine the outcome

Take a moment to live in the future though it hasn’t surfaced yet. Imagine the joy you could experience if you keep holding on and not give up. When you eventually lay your hands on IT, it will definitely be worth it at the end of the day.

6. Help others

Though you have your own challenges, be willing to help others when you can and as much as you can. Don’t be immersed in your own challenges that you miss the opportunities around you to do so.

7. Remain courteous

This season of waiting may make you feel crossed at everyone. You may even be cranky because you are frustrated by it but you need to be humble and respectful to others, regardless of how you feel.

Don’t be overcome by what you are going through. Remember, people may not remember what you did for them but they most likely won’t forget how you made them feel.

8. Keep going

There can never be a better time than your very own time and your time will always be the right one for you. Though you may still be trying, you are nearer to your goal than when you first started.

As you keep at it, you will make it in the end and when you do… it’s like you never waited.

Does it feel like you are waiting endlessly and you can’t seem to see an end in sight? Let me know how you are keeping up in the comments.
